Gates Studio was founded by Valerie Gates, an experienced photographer, graphic designer, and film director
utilizing a variety of media to create all manner of marketing communications vehicles, including CD packaging,
movie posters, music videos, commercials, book and video covers, logos, brochures and websites. She has photographed such personalities as Ronald Reagan, Magic Johnson, Wayne Gretzky, Sean Young, and WBZ on-air personalities Lisa Hughes, Joe Shortsleeve, Liz Walker, Jack Williams, and Bob Lobel, as well as many luminaries
in the worlds of media, business, and arts/sciences. As Creative Director for national broadcast projects for CBS,
ABC and Women’s Entertainment, and as the in-house Art Director for CBS-Boston (WBZ-4), Valerie has won numerous awards, including an EMMY, the CBS Eye-On-Excellence Award, and BDA, PROMAX and AFI/SONY
National Directing awards.

Barry Friedman has extensive hands-on experience throughout all phases of creative services development and production, producing a diverse range of creative projects with exceptional attention to detail. He has designed and produced marketing collateral, DVD and CD packaging, point-of-purchase displays, catalogs, websites and corporate presentations for such companies as Sapient, Reebok, New Line Cinema, Warner Bros. Records and Motown.
